Dear All,

Here is a summary of the meeting with African partners.

1. All members are committed to prepare the proposal and confident we shall beat the deadline.
2. We agreed on GenAI that cut across the 3 living labs
- The product to be implemented will comprise a chatbot that supports multiple languages (dialects) used by farmers.
- As input farmers will send text prompts (e.g. suspicious colour of crops, sitting of pests, weather information, volume of harvest) and the cloud based GenAI system will return information advising the farmer (e.g., possible crop disease, contact of nearest agricultural extension officer, potential/best market for the harvest, etc)
- Challenges unique to African farmers should be considered e.g. limited access to smartphones and poor internet coverage (only using feature phones and SMS)
3. Each living lab may have specific additional features e.g.
- The deployment of climate data sensors
- Geo-fencing application to combat herder and crop farmer conflicts.

Resolution:
1. The project is going to adopt GenAI solutions that have already been developed in the EU and adapt them to Africa,
2. SoBigData and Slices to identify these building blocks and required technologies.
